People cheer as teams of contestants slip, slide, and slosh their way to victory. The best part – ALL proceeds benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware.
Q. WHAT DO I GET WITH MY REGISTRATION?
A. The most awesome, official Delaware Mud Run t-shirt and an experience of a lifetime for an amazing cause. (Parking Pass sold separately).
Q. WHERE IS THE DELAWARE MUD RUN?
A. The event is held at Frightland in Middletown, DE — CLICK HERE
Q. WHAT’S IMPORTANT THIS YEAR – START TIMES?
A. When you sign up, you can sign up for whichever heat you’d like. However, each heat, will have a % next to it which references to how FULL the heat is. If you are planning to sign up with friends that are on another team and haven’t signed up yet, it’s not recommended to sign up for a heat that is 95% full. You’re better off signing up for the heat that is 45% full. This way, your lazy friends from a different team will have a better chance of getting into your heat. Please arrive at least two hours prior to your heat. You will be grouped 20 minutes prior to start of your heat.
Q. WHAT ELSE – COLORED BIBS?
A. Depending on the heat you are in, you will have a colored bib!! This way, if you are supposed to run at 10:20am, the color of your bib will tell you and us if you are in the right heat.
You will not be permitted to run in any other heat except for the one that matches your colored bib. No Exceptions – this is for your safety as well as the safety of others!
Q. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE DELAWARE MUD RUN?
A. The Delaware Mud Run is for regular people, civil servants, companies, colleges and military personnel. Teams of Four can participate in the male, female, or Co-Ed (must have one member of the opposite sex) division. But, you must be 14 years of age or older. (Individual participation is available in the male or female categories, for $50 per individual.)
Q. WHAT DOES A CAPTAIN DO?
A. Captains are in charge of their team. They do it all, from pick the name of the team to register all the members. First, they must ensure all team members register prior to September 8th when registration closes. They also accept the responsibility of paying for your team and inviting three friends to join. The captain is also the only one who can purchase Preferred Parking Passes, limit 2 per team! If you must make a substitution for one of you teammates, please do so by May 31st to avoid any last minute confusion for us all!
Q. HOW DO I USE THE “INVITE LINK”?
A. Just right-click the “Invite Link” and select “copy shortcut” and paste. This personalized link is provided to you so you can invite friends to join your team via text, email or on Facebook and Twitter
Q. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?
A. The later you register your team, the higher the fee, so register early!
March 21st Until April 20th – $160
April 21st Until May 20th – $180
May 21st Until May 31st – $200 – registration closes at end of day
Q. WHEN DOES REGISTRATION END?
A. Registration closes on May 31st at 11:59PM. Don’t worry, if you miss it, we’ll be here next year too.
Q. ANYTHING ELSE?
A. Waivers must be acknowledged by all participants. If you are under 18 please either bring a notarized copy to packet pickup or come with a guardian to the Packet Pickup Locations. You can download the waiver on our site.
Spectators will not be allowed on the course – we want to make sure no one gets hurt, but there will be special viewing areas. We’re not taking any chances – be safe. If you are on the course WITHOUT a bib number you will be escorted to the exit, we will not take any chances with safety.
You must start in your team’s assigned wave for your time to post correctly and to qualify for any prizes. Make sure you know what heat you signed up for.
Q. HOW DO YOU TRAIN FOR THE DELAWARE MUD RUN?
A. Start slow. Don’t try to train for this all at once. Progressively increase your
distance each week until you are up for a 5K distance. Make sure you are ready to run the race. It is up to you to do the proper training to ensure you are healthy enough to run. It’s recommended you check with your doctor before signing up to ensure you are cleared by a trained professional to participate. Remember, most of the race will be through mud and obstacles, so be ready!
Q. IF I WANT TO GET INVOLVED BUT CAN’T RUN THE RACE, CAN I VOLUNTEER?
A. Absolutely, we need volunteers to assist before, during and after the event. Please contact us through our VOLUNTEER form.
Q. WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT START?
A. Gates open at 7AM. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30. The first wave will start at 9:00am and the last wave will start at 11AM. Keep in mind you will likely finish the event in less than an hour but we don’t close our gates until 5PM.
Q. CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY COME OUT TO WATCH?
A. Absolutely! And there’s no charge for spectators. Just $10 per car for parking if purchased prior and $20 day of event.
Q. WHEN AND WHERE IS PACKET PICKUP?
Please note: some GPS and route guidance apps will say that Blue Diamond Park is closed (which it is) however, you can still access the property via the address above. When you turn into the park, off of Hamburg Road, you will then make first right (you will see Mud Run flags) and we will be down on the right side in our Mud Run Trailer.
It is not required that all team members come to packet pick up, only the team captain or ONE team member needs to come. Packets can be picked up by friends and family members, so if you can’t make it, send someone else. If you are picking up for more than 4 teams, please email us, in advance (no later than Sunday June 3rd by 12:00 noon), with your list of teams and day and time you will pick up, so that we can have the packets ready for you when you arrive.
Q. WILL THERE BE PACKET PICK-UP THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
A. Technically, NO! A packet picked up on the day of event will be an additional $50 per team- NO exceptions!
We have volunteers working for 2 1/2 days, for packets to be picked up before the run. If you can’t make it on one of the dates above, you can send a friend, family member, neighbor, anyone… to pick up your packet. You can come on your lunch hour, come before or after work.
Q. WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE RACE WAIVER FORM?
A. Click here!
Q. CAN I GET A REFUND IF I CAN’T RUN?
A. We’re sorry but there will be no refunds, all proceeds go to the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware and we appreciate your donation!
CHANGING YOUR TEAMMATES
Q. HOW DO I CHANGE A PARTICIPANT?
A. Log into your team page and make the changes.
Q. CAN I RUN WITH 3 PEOPLE ON MY TEAM BECAUSE SOMEONE CAN’T MAKE IT?
A. Yes. You will not be eligible to receive any of our prizes. Winning teams must have all 4 members.
Q. CAN A TEAM HAVE MORE THAN 4 MEMBERS? MY CAPTAINS PAGE ALLOWS ME TO INVITE MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN MY TEAM.
A. NO. Teams can only be made up of 4 people. If you have more friends that would like to participate and run with you, encourage them to create their own team and sign up in the same wave.
